Much like the Harp Sponge the Ping Pong Tree sponge has little bristles on the end of each ball that traps crustaceans when they come into contact with it, again like velcro. Very slowly cells move to the balls that trapped the helpless crustaceans and the cells begin digesting the crustacean. They can be found in the Pacific Ocean at around depths of 2,700 meters. These ping pong tree sponges can reach about 20 inches in height, this is how they get their name because they resemble a tree.
